Koyra OÜ — Terms and Conditions

Last updated: November 1, 2026

These terms apply to any adult, parent, teacher, or caseworker, who creates an account to support a child's use of Koyra ("the Service"), provided by Koyra OÜ, a company registered in Estonia. By checking "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" during signup, you agree to these terms.

1. What Koyra does. Koyra provides AI-assisted math tutoring for children who have moved between countries or school systems, including a short placement assessment and ongoing personalized lessons.

2. What we collect. - Adults: your name or nickname, an email address, and your role. - Children: a first name or nickname (surname optional), age, the grade completed and the grade entering, whether they have moved countries, and their native and host languages; optionally, their gender and a family email address (used for sign-in codes and, if the family agrees, messages from the teacher). A child signs in with a PIN, which we store only in scrambled (hashed) form. We do not require a child's legal surname, date of birth, or email address. - While using Koyra: a child's answers, working, and progress, used to personalize lessons; a short mood check-in at the start and end of each session, used to pace the session and to let the connected adult know about a hard day; any submitted photos of written work; any notes the child or a connected adult chooses to write; the optional "Extra-gentle pacing" setting, which an adult may turn on and the child never sees; and, where a child chooses to speak their answer instead of typing it, a short audio recording used only to convert their speech to text.

3. How AI is used. Koyra uses artificial intelligence services, including providers based in the United States, to generate lessons, assess answers, support tutoring, and, where a child speaks their answer, to transcribe that speech into text. This means a child's typed or spoken answers, submitted photos of written work, and any voice recordings may be processed on servers outside the European Union, under data protection agreements that include the Standard Contractual Clauses, which EU law recognizes as an appropriate safeguard for this kind of transfer. Voice recordings are used only to produce a text transcript and are not stored by Koyra afterward.

4. Where data is stored. Our core systems are hosted in Frankfurt, Germany, within the EU.

5. Who can see a child's information. Only the parent, teacher, or caseworker connected to that child, and Koyra staff where necessary to operate and improve the Service.

6. Your rights. You may request to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you or a child in your care, or object to certain processing, by contacting help@koyra.ai. We will respond within one month, as required by law.

7. Retention. We keep a child's data only for as long as needed to provide the Service and for a limited period afterward for safety and record-keeping, and will delete it on request unless we are required by law to keep it longer.

8. Safety. If our systems detect language suggesting a child may be in danger or distress, we may flag this for review by the adult connected to that child.

9. Changes. We may update these terms as Koyra grows, and will notify account holders of material changes.

10. Contact and governing law. Koyra OÜ, registry code 17604920, Estonia. Questions: help@koyra.ai. Governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Koyra OÜ — Wellbeing Check Consent (Parent/Guardian)

Last updated: November 1, 2026

Koyra includes an optional wellbeing check for children in grades 5 through 9. It is a short, child-adapted version of a widely used screening tool (the PHQ-4) that can help identify whether a child may be experiencing anxiety or low mood. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace professional evaluation.

How it works: - About every one to two weeks, after a math session, your child is shown four short questions and can always tap "Not today" instead of answering. - Your child is never shown a score. - If the results suggest your child may be struggling, the teacher or caseworker connected to your child is notified, so they can check in, in general terms, not with a clinical number. - This is entirely optional. Declining has no effect on your child's access to math tutoring. - You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting help@koyra.ai, which will stop future checks immediately.

Your choice, by checking the box: "I am the parent or legal guardian of the child or children I add to this account, and I consent to their participation in the optional wellbeing check described above."

This consent applies to children you add to your account going forward. You may withdraw it for any individual child at any time.

Koyra OÜ — Wellbeing Feature Acknowledgment (Teacher/Caseworker)

Last updated: September 24, 2026

Koyra includes an optional wellbeing check for children in grades 5 through 9, described in full above. Checking this box does not, by itself, activate this feature for any child. For a child with a parent or guardian using Koyra, the wellbeing check can only be turned on if that parent or guardian has separately given consent. This box confirms that:

1. You understand how the wellbeing check works and what it is not (not a diagnosis, not a substitute for professional support). 2. If you are notified that a child may be struggling, you agree to treat this information confidentially and follow your organization's usual safeguarding procedures. 3. If a child in your care has no parent or guardian account on Koyra (for example, an unaccompanied child), you understand that the wellbeing check will only be offered if you separately confirm, for that specific child, that you are their formally recognized guardian or responsible caseworker, at the time you add them. Simply having a Koyra account does not grant this authority.

Your choice, by checking the box: "I acknowledge the above and agree to Koyra's wellbeing check practices."
