Koyra

Koyra was previously called Zorya (learnzorya.com). Same tutor, new name.

For schools & NGOs · the adults' side

Thirty children. Two minutes each morning to see who needs you, and why.

This page is about your side of Koyra: the dashboard, the morning cards, alerts, reports, your own worksheets, and what it takes to run a pilot.

Teacher home with the morning brief: one card per student
Teacher home: the morning brief on top, the class roster below.
Every morning

One card per child, ready before first period.

Each card says what the child did in their last session, whether the struggle is the language or the math, and one concrete thing to do this morning. Cards that need attention sort to the top, starting with any child who needs a gentle check-in. Filter by class or group so several classes do not mix.

Teachers see progress, never a caseworker's private notes.

Andriy · Grade 4 · UA → PLVocabulary block
What happenedCompared fractions correctly in Ukrainian. Stalled twice on the Polish version of the same problem.
What it meansLanguage barrier on większa and która. Not a math gap.
TodaySay "większa" aloud once in class with a gesture. In his next session Koyra keeps the math moving and writes the Polish more simply.
The caseworker dashboard

Math and language, tracked separately for every child.

Caseworker home with attention bar, four tiles, and the roster
HomeAn attention bar: green when all is calm, amber when a child needs you. Four tiles: active learners, sessions today, priority alerts, average mood. The roster below, urgent first.
Competency overview with math and language columns
CompetenciesTwo bars per child. Low on both means the math needs work; low only on language means the concepts are there and the words are missing.
Child panel showing progress bars, grouped competencies, and recent sessions
Per childCompetencies grouped: mastered, practicing, needs support, up next. Every recent session, with every answer and its reasoning.
Alerts and safety

Koyra checks every child daily. You hear about what matters.

Alerts list, newest first

Alerts

No session in four days. Accuracy dropped. Prerequisite gap. Topic mastered. One list, newest first; click to open the child. Each alert comes with what to do.

Caseworker view: a learner's mood check-in, flagged for individual review

Silent distress flag

SEEN BY ADULTS ONLY. If a child signals a hard day at check-in, you are alerted. The child sees the same warm response as always; nothing on their screen shows that you were told. Distress alerts are never cleared in bulk.

What your team gets

Reporting that writes itself, and tools that fit the work you already do.

Placement readiness reports

Demonstrated level in each language, gap summary, accuracy trend, and a recommendation, in the local language plus English. No child's name inside. It supports a formal assessment and says so.

Family updates waiting for approval before they are sent
a person approves every note

Family notes, in their language

Every weekly note waits here first. Read it as the family will, edit, then approve and send. Under each note, a five-minute home activity with the exact words to say. Teachers can also message a family directly: the family reads it in their language and can reply in it, and the teacher reads the reply in theirs.

Scan review: detected problems listed for the teacher to approve
answer key never shown to the child

Your own worksheets and tests

Koyra reads the pages and picks out the problems. You uncheck anything wrong, fix misread text, and choose how it is marked: partial credit, full credit only, or no mark at all. Nothing reaches a child until you approve it.

Topics and tasks: learners grouped by what they need next, with the reason for each group
worked out from each child's answers

Groups, topics, and tasks

Koyra groups your learners by what they need next: ready to move on, more time on the math, or the words rather than the math, each with the reason. Choose a topic for a group, a whole class, or one learner, write your own problems, or send a worksheet.

Exam preparation: a national exam attached to a child
national exams

Exam preparation

Attach a real national exam to a child. Sessions lean toward its topics, heaviest first. The child sees only a calm card: no timers, no pass bar, never a date or a percentage.

Adding a child: one form with name, age, grade, languages, and a PIN
one form per child

Setup and control

A private “Extra-gentle pacing” setting the child never sees makes sessions shorter, slower, gentler. Session length from 10 to 45 minutes. Pick the current topic from the official curriculum.

Running a pilot

Simple to start.

Any number of children, grades 1 to 9, any mix of the languages we support. We measure per child and give everything back to you. All we ask for is honest feedback: it decides what we build next.

  1. 01Add each child. Name, age, grade, the two languages, a PIN. One tablet code per shared device.
  2. 02One placement, the first time. In the child's own language, with you or at the first login.
  3. 03Then sessions wherever they fit. On a shared tablet in class, or from home on their own device.
  4. 04You get everything, every week. Who moved forward, who went quiet, who is stuck and why. The dashboard, alerts, reports, and the morning cards, from day one.
Where Koyra runs now

Three countries, in pilots.

We started with refugee and displaced children. Next is the United States: Common Core is being added, with first pilots in New York, then schools with multilingual learners across the country.

Estonia

Ukrainian refugee children, and Russian-speaking children whose schools are moving to Estonian, including the three-language case: Ukrainian at home, schooled in Russian, learning in Estonian.

УКР · ESTРУС · EST

Poland

Ukrainian refugee children in Polish schools, with placement reports for the Komisja Kwalifikacyjna and national exam preparation.

УКР · POL

Ukraine

Children whose schooling was interrupted, taught in one language on the Ukrainian curriculum. The same placement and diagnosis, with the bilingual layer off.

Українська
Safety and privacy, in plain words

Boring where it counts.

Built for GDPR compliance from day one.

A code, never a name

To the AI, every child is a code. Never a name, never a photo of the child. Reports identify children by an anonymized reference.

Stored data stays in the EU

Stored in Frankfurt; AI processing may take place outside the EU. A family can ask to see, correct or delete a child's data at any time.

No ads, no rankings, no data sale

No comparison between children anywhere, by design.

People stay in the loop

A person approves every article before a child reads it. During checks the chat is off, and it never gives answers. In grades 1 to 4, what a child uploads waits for an adult to approve it; in grades 5 to 9 it is used at once and shown to an adult to check.
